The Principal Mrs Edwina Norris nee Amison established the Ballet school after qualifying to teach Ballet, Tap and Theatre Dance. The main branch of the school is in Moseley, Birmingham and the work of the school also goes to Halifield Prepatory School Edgbaston where 110 boys and girls are taught by Edwina every week. |

Edwina has been the area organiser of the Royal Academy of Dance for the last 30 years, arranging examinations and courses for the children and teachers throughout the Midlands. |
| The Rutleigh & Norris Ballet schools have been active in the region for over 40 years, giving some of thr students opportunities to dance with the National Youth Ballet, Birmingham Contemporary Youth Dance Group and been junior associates of the Royal Ballet school Birmingham. |  |
