Edwina was the area organiser for the Royal Academy of Dance for over 30 years, arranging examinations and courses for the children and teachers throughout the Midlands. Edwina also held the office of secretary of the Regional Advisory Board for 15 years.

In 1994 Edwina had the honour of receiving the President's Award of the Royal Academy of Dance at the Queeen Elizabeth Hall, London for her dedicated services to Ballet.

The Rutleigh/Norris Ballet schools have been active in the region for over 50 years and there are well established branches of the school in Moseley, Hall Green, Bournville, and Alcester.

The main work of the school is with the once a week pupil but a group of approximately 75 students also study for the major syllabi of two of the recognised Classical Ballet Societies.

Students also have classes in Contemporary Dance.
